MEX 3D Printed HDPE/TiO2 Nanocomposites Physical and Mechanical Properties Investigation

Aiming to develop more robust, mechanically advanced, Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) materials, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) nanocomposites were developed in the current research work. Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) was selected as filler be incorporated into HDPE matrix concentration steps of 0.5, 2.5, 5, and 10 wt.%. 3D printing nanocomposite filaments extruded ~1.75 mm diameter used print test tensile flexion specimens according international standards. Reported results indicate that contributes increasing mechanical strength virgin at certain type concentrations; with highest values reported 37.8% higher HDPE/TiO2 Morphological thermal characterization performed utilizing Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Raman, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Calorimetry (DSC), while correlated available literature.
